Day 3 Perranporth to Tintagel

Weather again fine with some sunshine and a moderate southeasterly breeze. after a porridge and fig breakfast we were on the road by 9am. Unfortunately our laundry was still wet so we had to ride with our bikes festooned with T shirts & smalls . The first climb out of Perranporth was hard, the legs had not warmed up yet. Then a good few miles into the south easterly making progress slow until we arrived at the A30. Then swung around to the north through Fiddlers Green and St Newlyn East - where Dad stocked up on film in the post office. Stopped at Porth for a Surfers breakfast (full english) at the Seahorse cafe. Then the work really began. This section fram Newquay to Padstow was incredibly difficult. Murderous hills seemingly almost every mile. we crossed at least 7 watercourses each one having death defying descents down snaking roads then ridiculously steep ascents up the other side. Eventually got to Padstow where we enjoyed a pasty by the harbour served by a woman so large dad reckoned she must live on nothing else. St the ferry was ready to go we did not linger in Padstow but went straight over the Camel to Rock. We continued on our way up the B3314 - a road I know I have cycled before byut I don't remember a thing about it, which syas something about this road. We gat as far a Delabole where we stocked up on provisions for the evening meal. Then swooped down to Trewarmett and up a rough track to Tintagel YHA. Another wonderful location at the top of a cliff ovelooking the ocean. Distance cycled 39 miles (tot 109)
